  welcome

Please note that you are viewing the archive of my old site. Visit CoghillCartooning.com for the new site with all of my new cartooning and illustration work. Thanks!

Welcome to the website of Kent, Ohio illustrator and designer George Coghill. Work on this site covers a wide range of interests and styles, from abstract/geometric cubist oil painting to surreal and psychedelic creatures and illustrations; comic/cartoon, graphic and commercial illustration to graphic, website, layout and logo design. Choice of medium ranges from traditional pen & ink, charcoal and oil painting to works done exclusively on Photoshop & Illustrator, and of course a blend of the traditional and the electronic. You'll even find some photography on here.

I am fascinated by all means of image creation, and my curiosity pushes my creativity to explore all sorts of styles, schools, techniques, media and genres.

All projects are given equal thought, care and attention. Don't hesitate to inquire about retaining my services, I enjoy all varieties of projects and look forward to new challenges. Visit the info page for rates and contact info.

I hope you enjoy these creations as much as I do in creating them.

New site structure:

This archive will remain until I get all the transfers complete, and will be available at: art.georgecoghill.com (note the "art" instead of "www"). You should see it up in your address bar.

If you are looking for my current illustration portfolio, just use the standard www.georgecoghill.com.
If you are looking for my design portfolio, visit: design.georgecoghill.com
My abstract oil paintings will be now located at: fineart.georgecoghill.com (not up yet)
Lastly, this site will remain as an achive and can be accessed at: art.georgecoghill.com

Why have I made this so complicated? I want to maintain a porfolio for my illustration work that emphasizes and showcases it. I feel this is my strongest talent, and it's what I really enjoy doing the most. However, I do have my design work, and I want to keep that separate from the illustration work. It's difficult to convince a potential client that you can handle their corporate identity package when you have robots and monsters all over your website :)

I feel as if my current site is a bit schizophrenic, as my corporate work does not fit in with my illustration work. I do not currently have enough design work that requires a cartoon look, and want to put the best foot forward for each type of client.

As I mentioned, this site will remain, as there is much art here that will not be featured on the other websites.
