This illustration was commissioned by a friend for an original tattoo design. He wished to have a surreal interpretation of a bull in reference to his astrological sybol, Taurus. The design was given to me especially because of other psychedlic multiple eyed drawings of mine which the client wished to have worked into a bull's head. The original design was fairl obvious to me, substituting hooves where I would normally insert claws, with multiple eyes peering out from the folds of skin which also reflect the legs of the animal. As the final design progressed, a triangle became the structural background for the bull head, as it enclosed the head nicely, and upon triangular subdivisions of the main triangle, reference points for eyes, the tips of the horns ands other features began to have their place, and made the design even stronger. I also liked the concept of incorporating a triangle as the design structure because of its blanace of simplicity and strength, which I felt also reflected the trait of a person under the influence of the Zodiac sign of Taurus. |
