One of countless drawings and illustrations of 'eye mouth claw' drawings I have worked on over many years. All involve some psychedelic recombination of familiar facial features. A vague reptilian feeling runs through all of these drawings, not to mention a strong H.P. Lovecraft/Cthulu thing going on. This sketch in particular has a worm or snake theme dominating. The attempt was to create a writhing field of some sort of alien type creature. This piece is one of the drawings that begins to move towards a shaded representation, whereas the original sketches were worked out in a more line art style. The addition of contour lines and shading adds much to these pieces. |
