I
have always loved those 13th century paintings, woodcuts and drawings
featuring bizarre demons and creatures. They always have strange
pug noses or snouts, and creepy spindly horns. A few illustration-oriented
interpretations of these demons found their way into some sketches
and more finished pieces like this one. This guy would feel right
at home one one of those innacurate sea maps from the 12th-13th
century
