This illustration is one of an ongoing series of images based on psychedelic poster style illustrations and designs. Most of the pieces include an eye as the central design element, and all works have their inspiration in Mayan, Aztec and Egpytian heiroglyphic art. The illustrations revolve around a loose language of design elements including spirals, flames, bone-like structures, engine and machine parts, and usually employ a symmetrical design. This illustration focuses a winged creature deisned to reflect a dreamlike quality. Fluid and organic throughout, this illustration was intended to have a soothing although odd effect on the viewer. This illustration was originally drawn and inked on paper, then later scanned and colored in Adobe Illustrator. |
