This psychedelic promotional flyer for a friends annual summer party was pure enjoyment to work on. I was given free range as to the content, the only consideration being that it resemble a psychedelic concert poster from the sixties.

The final design was developed based on a few Rick Griffin and Stanley Mouse motifs, then scanned and the line art completed in Adobe Illustrator. Trippy colors were added, some psychedelic creature machines from my personal artwork were added, plenty of eyeballs and flames, pyramids, a dash of lava lamp looking letters and voilá!

The 'Greatest Party in the World (a tribute)' theme is itself a tribute to Dave's favorite band of all time, Tenacious D and their song (which Dave sang the whole time we camped in Upper Peninsula Michigan), 'The Greatest Song in the World (a tribute). You have to hear the song (and know Dave) to get the joke. Great party, by the way.
