This original logo/icon for Kent, Ohio blues band Black Cat Monroe was developed from a concept of their lead singer who wanted a blusey, zoot suit wearing hep cat in a similar pose to the 'Keep on Truckin'' character by Robert Crumb.

The design was sketched to get a proper template for the Adobe Illustrator work to come, where the line art and coloring was completed.
