The
'Pencil Heads' drawing series started as a vehicle for me to get
back into traditional pencil/graphite and paper artwork, as I
had been doing so much work on the computer (and still do), but
wanted to flex my creative skills and get my hands and mind working
together again the 'old' way.
These
drawings were done primarily for fun, and something that would
sell easily. I have always enjoyed cartooning and caricature,
and love the effect of exaggerated and distorted human facial
features.
This
series of Pencil Heads took a less cartoony take on the theme,
and began to introduce more bizarre distortions. The heads have
distinct split-personalities, where it almost seems as if there
are two heads instead of one.
